I remember my first online purchase.
It was from Amazon.com, 10+ years ago!
That was a time where many people (myself included) thought
shopping online was dangerous and risky. When my first box
of books landed on my doorstep... I was hooked!
Shopping online gave me access to so many items that I
might not have been able to find in stores. It also gave me
the convenience of not having to drive anywhere, find parking,
deal with crowded stores, stand in lines, etc. I fell in LOVE
with the luxury of Home Delivery.
With every passing year, like most people I have found myself
shopping more and more online and it is changing how business
is done today.
Maybe the greatest example of this is how Netflix a start up
company in a very established market put Blockbuster the
undisputed leader in that space in bankruptcy in just a few
short years with one simple concept... Home Delivery.
Why go to a store when you can get it delivered to your door?
Companies that do not grasp this concept quickly enough will
drift away, just like Blockbuster did. Companies realize and
embrace the trend will flourish.
Billion dollar brands are being created faster than ever before today.
Who's going to be the next household name?

PS: Amazon.com just bought Diapers.com (a 5 year old company)
for $540,000,000 cash... After they turned down an offer from Walmart.
