When I grew up...
> My social network was:
Who I played basketball with.
> The way I added friends was:
By being friendly, not by clicking request.
> The way I was notified someone liked what I said was:
I saw them smile, instead of by text alerts.
> A tweet was:
The sound I listened to the birds sing as
I delivered newspapers every morning before school.
> A text message was:
A note I passed to someone when the teacher wasn't looking.
I love Facebook, Twitter, and Smartphone's and...
I'm glad I grew up before they existed.
(And a part of me wishes they still didn't exist.)

Infographic: The Growing Impact of Social Media
By John Delaney
ATTENTION:
On Friday, 4/29/2011. Facebook will become OWNER
of the publishing rights of ALL your private photos!
To prevent this, you need to make a simple change:
1. Go to "Account", upper right.
2. In the drop down, click on "Account Settings".
3. Click on "Facebook Ads", along the top, far right.
4. The first section says, "Ads shown by third parties",
Click on "Edit third party ad settings".
5. Choose "No One" then save.
This should take you 1 or 2 minutes to protect your privacy,
and ownership rights of all of your private photos.
Please share this so others are aware and can protect their photos too.

Anyone else notice and find it funny that Facebook posts an announcement of a new feature with a screen capture by a Facebook employee using a Mac? When they are partially owned by Microsoft?
And by partially owned, I'm talking about when Microsoft bought 1.6% of Facebook for $240 Million! You'd think $240 Million might be able to buy a little brand loyalty... guess not.

PS: Or does my noticing that and finding it funny prove the level of my tech nerdiness?
Facebook explains in their own words how their new Email... Isn't Email.
Hmm... okay. Sounds like it's a unified inbox, with text messages, email,
and chat threaded together.
Kinda like what I've had with Gmail, G-Talk, and Google Voice for 2 years?

Update:
I finally got set up on the new facebook messages system.
While I'm not certain it's the greatest thing since sliced bread...
It is a million times better than their old email system (which was awful).
This whole Facebook Phone thing just keeps getting weirder and weirder.
Techcrunch broke the story about the project. Then Facebook PR officially denied it, saying the story was “not accurate.” Naturally, they were arguing semantics, as suspected, and other reports about such a project quickly followed. This led to a sit down with CEO Mark Zuckerberg, during which he acknowledged that the leak was “probably accurate.”
