Social Networking... When I grew up

When I grew up...

> My social network was:
Who I played basketball with.

> The way I added friends was:
By being friendly, not by clicking request.

> The way I was notified someone liked what I said was:
I saw them smile, instead of by text alerts.

> A tweet was:
The sound I listened to the birds sing as
I delivered newspapers every morning before school.

> A text message was:
A note I passed to someone when the teacher wasn't looking.

I love Facebook, Twitter, and Smartphone's and...
I'm glad I grew up before they existed.

(And a part of me wishes they still didn't exist.)

The Voice of a 7 Year Old Angel

What an absolutely amazing voice.

From her website:
Rhema is 8 years old now (she was 7 years old in this video).
She lost her mother, Wendi Marvanne, to ovarian cancer Nov. 8, 2008.
Rhema sings to glorify God. This is her calling and ministry.

If you can listen to her sing and keep your eyes from sweating...
You're stronger than I am.

Here's more about her story.

How To Get Along With People: 101

1. Be quick to listen, slow to speak.

2. Replace judgement with understanding.

3. Ask before assuming anything.

4. Imagine everyone as your dearest family member.

(And remember, they are someone else's dearest family member.)

5. When someone makes a mistake, remember your own mistakes.

6. Be willing to forgive as often as you have sought forgiveness.

7. Expect nobody to be any more perfect than you are.

8. Don't put anyone on a pedestal. Instead, put them in your heart.

(It's easy to fall off a pedestal, it's hard to fall out of a heart.)

9. Be vunerable.  There is no greater strength than letting go of power.

10. Smile more.

Dr. Wayne Dyer's Voicemail

I just read a post where Wayne Dyer confirmed that this
is what his voicemail message says:

"Hi, this is Wayne Dyer and I want to feel good.
If your message is designed to do anything other than that,
You have reached the wrong number."

I love it!  I've been a big fan of his for a long time.
The guy is brilliant, do yourself a favor and go buy
something of his today at the nearest bookstore.

I guarantee you'll love any of his books and/or audio programs.

The Stats Behind Twitter...

Twitter can be a fantastic way for somebody to market themselves online and there are a number of tools out there that can help you get your tweets out to the people that are going to be most interested in reading them. Spend time searching for people that are already making comments that are related to what you are selling or doing and start to build a relationship with them by following them and encouraging them to do the same in return.

A Twitter Infographic

Some very interesting and surprising stats.
